My work intertwines abstraction and impression with ideas surrounding mental health and disability. Painting the feelings of my invisible disabilities has given me a platform of expression to raise awareness around these topics. To create my art, I photograph environments then paint watercolor sketches and transform the sketches into paintings.  This process invites imagination, as the fluid brush strokes suggest endless interpretive possibilities and soft tones create a calming feeling. Gentle colors create visual contrast with the confusion of living with differences, leading viewers to question the intentions of the color palette and the impressionistic forms. In this way, the viewer can relate the emotions of the work to their own experiences.
